Paladino Blames Anti-Gay Comments On Prepared Comments Given To Him By Hasidic Group

New York Republican gubernatorial candidate Carl Paladino said on the Today Show the comment that homosexuality is “dysfunctional” came from prepared comments given to him by the group he was addressing that he crossed out. He did, however, read the part saying that being gay is “not an equally valid or successful option.” The bigger question is why he would be reading a speech handed to him by the group he’s addressing in the first place.

After trying to convince Matt Lauer how open-minded he is about gays, that he has a gay nephew (who wasn’t “brainwashed” as he said gays are in his speech), and that he’d hire gays in his administration, he went on to denounce the gay parade, saying, “They wear these little Speedos and they grind against each other.” He reiterated the “grind” comment later in the interview.
