Sharron Angle Is Accusing Harry Reid Of Stealing Next Week’s Election
Sharron Angle is preparing for a Harry Reid win in the Nevada U.S. Senate race by deciding that he stole an election that hasn’t taken place yet. Her attorney, Cleta Mitchell, who tried to make a secret deal to get tea party candidate Scott Ashjian out of the race, makes these unsubstantiated charges in a fund-raising letter, available via Jon Ralston of the Las Vegas Sun.
As Sharron Angle’s campaign attorney, I am sorry to report that the Democrats and their cronies are up to their same old tricks, of trying to manipulate the election in hopes of skewing the results in their favor.
Two days ago, the Democratic Secretary of State announced that voters can be provided “free food” at “voter turnout events.” Harry Reid has been offering free food and, according to other reports, some Democratic allies such as teachers’ unions are offering gift cards in return for a vote for Reid.
Before we were even able to document the reported infractions to report to the authorities, the Democrat Secretary of State slammed the door shut on preventing this behavior and issued a public statement permitting these ACORN-style tactics. THESE are the kinds of shenanigans that can turn this race.
Harry Reid intends to steal this election if he can’t win it outright.
Nevada Secretary of State Ross Miller responds to these charges by noting that no one has filed charges or notified his office, as required by law, of any such charges.
We have become aware of a campaign solicitation mailer sent on behalf of Sharron Angle, candidate for United States Senate, wherein it is alleged that “vote buying” is occurring in the State of Nevada and permitted by the Nevada Secretary of State. The correspondence, authored by Ms. Cleta Mitchell, a Washington D.C.-based attorney representing “Friends of Sharron Angle,” fails to cite any evidence of “vote buying” in the State of Nevada other than reports to their election hotline about representatives of unions. The Secretary of State encourages anyone with information regarding “vote buying” to contact the Election Integrity Task Force. In partnership with the Office of the United States’ Attorney, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and the Nevada Attorney General’s Office, the Task Force is structured to receive and respond to any violation of State or Federal Law, and complaints can be submitted on the Secretary of State’s website at www.nvsos.gov. The statutes involved in this matter carry criminal penalties, and complaints should contain specific information, not conjecture and rumor used in support of a plea for financial contributions, as the foundation of the violation. To date, no such complaint has been submitted to this office.Click here for reuse options!
