odonnell102610

Delaware U.S. Senate nominee Christine O’Donnell threatened to sue a radio station if it didn’t turn over video of an interview she did with them, but later apologized for the heavy-handed tactics.

O’Donnell appeared on WDEL’s “The Rick Jensen Show” Tuesday, during which she fielded several questions from listeners and the host. Upon the conclusion of the interview, an O’Donnell aide demanded video of the interview be turned over to the campaign and destroyed because such videotaping had not been previously approved.

It was then, according to WDEL, that O’Donnell herself threatened to sue the station if it did not …

What’s Up With Republicans And Apologies?

15866g

by Stuart Shapiro

There has been a recent trend of conservatives asking for apologies for their own misdeeds (h/t Steve Benen).  Witness.

Alan wrote about the Rand Paul staffer asking for an apology from the person whose face he stepped on.

Ginny Thomas recently asked Anita Hill to apologize for being harassed by her husband, Clarence.

And yesterday Yashwanth noted Ken Buck’s willingness to blame the victim in a rape case.

With that in mind, I am asking for (no wait, demanding!) apologies from the following parties:

  • 1.  The lamppost I hit with my car in 1998.  (Really, you …

Sharron Angle Is Accusing Harry Reid Of Stealing Next Week’s Election

    PH2010101403362

Sharron Angle is preparing for a Harry Reid win in the Nevada U.S. Senate race by deciding that he stole an election that hasn’t taken place yet. Her attorney, Cleta Mitchell, who tried to make a secret deal to get tea party candidate Scott Ashjian out of the race, makes these unsubstantiated charges in a fund-raising letter, available via Jon Ralston of the Las Vegas Sun.

As Sharron Angle’s campaign attorney, I am sorry to report that the Democrats and their cronies are up to their same old tricks, of trying to manipulate the election in hopes of skewing …

Tim Profitt, the subject of an assault investigation because his foot got in the way of MoveOn.org member Lauren Valle’s face, says it’s not he who should apologize, it’s Valle who owes him an apology (via Think Progress).  Valle says she believes Paul supporters planned an attack on her. When asked if he’ll apologize to Valle, Profitt says, “I would like for her to apologize to me to be honest with you.” Valle is back from the hospital, recovering from a concussion and a sprained shoulder and arm.…

Rand Paul Stomper Says He Stepped On Lauren Valle Because He Has A Bad Back

    TIM-PROFITT

Tim Profitt, the Rand Paul organizer and donor who is being investigated in connection with stomping on MoveOn.org member Lauren Valle, says she was overly aggressive and he was trying to hold her down with his foot because his bad back prevented him from bending down.

In the video, it appears to some that 23-year-old Lauren Valle is wrestled down to the ground by Rand Paul Supporters and then stomped on.

But to Tim Profitt, the the situation is much different. He says what the video doesn’t show is Valle’s aggressive behavior. Profitt says she rushed Paul’s car three different …

Miller’s admission and a disciplinary letter were among his employee records released by the Fairbanks North Star Borough on Tuesday as a result of a lawsuit by media organizations. Miller …

    capt.102fdbc36fd54d598daecc6a683df1b1-102fdbc36fd54d598daecc6a683df1b1-0

California’s Proposition 19 is being supported by financier George Soros to the tune of a million dollars.

The contribution reported Tuesday by The Sacramento Bee is the single biggest donation from an individual other than Proposition 19′s main sponsor, Oakland medical marijuana entrepreneur Richard Lee.

Soros, a high-profile liberal and philanthropist, has long backed drug law reform. He was one of the top financial backers of California’s first-in-the-nation measure that legalized medical marijuana in the state in 1996.

But Soros held off on openly endorsing the current measure until writing an op-ed published Tuesday in The Wall Street Journal. In …

    There’s Big Money In Muslim-Bashing

    240px-Steve_Emerson-color_corrected

The Tennessean has been chronicling the outrage over the building of a mosque in Murfreesboro, TN, and in the process has looked at the money stream flowing to those who make a good living bashing Islam.

Steven Emerson has 3,390,000 reasons to fear Muslims.

That’s how many dollars Emerson’s for-profit company — Washington-based SAE Productions — collected in 2008 for researching alleged ties between American Muslims and overseas terrorism. The payment came from the Investigative Project on Terrorism Foundation, a nonprofit charity Emerson also founded, which solicits money by telling donors they’re in imminent danger from Muslims.

    Emerson is a …

    laurenvalleolby

Jim Hoft at Gateway Pundit referred to Lauren Valle as an “unhinged leftist who

“…stalk[ed] and trie[d] to harass a Republican leader,” adding that she “wasn’t counting on this reacting by Rand Paul supporters.” He comments, “Look for the state-run media to make her into some kind of saint by the end of the day” and adds, “Let’s hope Code Pink was watching.”

Sweetness and Light called Valle “a professional leftist,” a sobriquet clearly meant as an insult. Conservative Dana Loesch Tweeted: “So let me get this right. Another paid Soros activist tries to incite violence at debate, was …

John McCain: Too Close For Comfort With Ruth McClung?

    john-mccain

    by Sandi Behrns

Things are getting messy in Arizona. The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee filed a complaint with the FEC against Sen. John McCain last week for iffy spending on a campaign other than his own. The complaint alleges that Sen. McCain is coordinating campaign efforts with two GOP House candidates.

On October 18th, two new ads began airing around the clock in Arizona featuring McCain and Sen. Jon Kyl. The first ad targets Rep. Raúl Grijalva and supports Republican Ruth McClung. The second ad attacks Rep. Gabrielle Giffords and supports Republican Jesse Kelly. The ads were funded …
