Sharron Angle’s Problem With Brown People

Nevada’s Sharron Angle already has one ad out showing dark people as the bad guys and white people the good guys. Now she’s done it again (via Think Progress)
In her newest attack ad, Angle pits brown against white in order to make the case that Reid is a friend of dark-skinned, scary looking “illegal aliens” and an enemy of white Nevadans like her.

Delaware’s U. S. Senate candidate Christine O’Donnell, who has said God wants her to run, says prayer has “a direct role” in the polls for her campaign.
“The day that we saw a spike in the polls was a day that some people had a prayer meeting for me that morning for this campaign so I believe that prayer plays a direct role in this campaign and I always ask please pray for the campaign; please pray for our staff; please pray specifically that the eyes of the voters be opened.”

Outside the contentious Rand Paul-Jack Conway debate for the U.S. Senate seat from Kentucky, a Paul supporter stomped on a woman associated with the liberal group MoveOn.org.
People in the crowd pulled the woman’s blonde wig off her head. She claimed to be presenting Paul with an award from RepubliCorp. It’s a group created by move-on that focuses on what it calls the merger between corporate America and the Republican Party.
“I’m here to present Rand Paul with the Employee of the Month award, however his supporters were not very nice to me and my message which is same as …

New York’s Mayor Bloomberg believes that no one but him should be mayor of New York for more than two terms. After working to remove the two-term limit so he could serve once again, Bloomberg wants to change the law back.
A spokesman says Bloomberg only supported three terms for himself, because the situation was extraordinary.
At the time, Bloomberg said the city needed him to get through the financial crisis. He promised he’d convene a charter commission to put the question before voters again.
Voters will consider it next Tuesday. The question asks whether to amend the city’s …

Tea Party Nation, sending out mailers in support of Rep. Keith Ellison’s opponent, Lynn Torgerson, lists the reasons Ellison should be “retired,” among them, “He is the only Muslim member of congress.” (h/t Talking Points Memo). The letter states:
There are a lot of liberals who need to be retired this year, but there are few I can think of more deserving than Keith Ellison. Ellison is one of the most radical members of congress. He has a ZERO rating from the American Conservative Union. He is the only Muslim member of congress. He supports the Counsel for …

To listen to Republicans on the stump, one would look at the Obama administration as being in favor of taxing and spending its way to oblivion. However, that would be ignoring reality. First, it would be ignoring the Obama tax cut:
In a troubling sign for Democrats as they head into the midterm elections, their signature tax cut of the past two years, which decreased income taxes by up to $400 a year for individuals and $800 for married couples, has gone largely unnoticed.
…which was admittedly designed to be ignored.
Actually, the tax cut was, by …

Republican Oklahoma gubernatorial candidate Rep. Mary Fallin claims she has a 6-0 advantage over Democratic candidate Lt. Gov. Jari Askins because of the six kids she’s raised.
Asked what distinguished her from Askins as a candidate, Fallin replied “I think my experience is one of the things that sets me apart as a candidate for governor. First of all, being a mother, having children, raising a family.”
Askins reacted to the charge that she is somehow less qualified to run the state because she is single with no children:

Frank Caprio, the Democratic candidate for governor in Rhode Island, let it be known he wanted President Obama to endorse him. However, the president decided not to endorse anyone in that race, possibly because Caprio’s opponent, former Senator Lincoln Chafee, was an early supporter of Obama 2008. As a result, Caprio said on WPRO radio that Obama could “take his endorsement and really shove it.”
Caprio also accused the president of “treating us like an ATM machine,” and ignoring Rhode Island during springtime flooding that swept through the state. Though Obama did not visit himself, he sent cabinet secretaries, including …
