Limbaugh Attacks Obama For Honoring Native Americans; Ridicules Them

Picture-134

Rush Limbaugh is horribly offended that President Obama honored the contributions of Native Americans, thanking them for their “rich culture” in his Thanksgiving proclamation. Mocking the people whose land we stole, Limbaugh believes their contributions amount to “casinos” and “reservations.”  Yes, Native Americans should be so thankful to us for taking over their land so they could be relegated to reservations.  (via Mediaite)

A caller seems very grateful that he is able to speak with a man who presents a true history of America, whose works, he says, bring him and his family to tears.

Speaking with a caller, …

Thank You To All Who Enjoy Liberaland

thanksgiving

A few years ago, I wanted to come up with a name for a website that signaled both liberal thinking and fun. “Liberaland” is the result. Three years ago, during the Thanksgiving holiday, I started putting up content just for fun, not sure I’d enjoy it for the long haul. Since then, we’ve gone through a few incarnations, the current page being one I’m particularly proud of. In the coming year, we’ll be adding new features and content. Our working model is here.

It’s gratifying that more users are finding us every day. So, on this Thanksgiving, thank you …

Tom DeLay Convicted Of Money Laundering

tom_delay_mugshot

Former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay has been found guilty of money laundering during the 2002 elections.

DeLay was accused of money laundering and conspiracy to commit money laundering. On the conspiracy charge, DeLay faces a sentence of two to 20 years in prison and five to 99 years or life in prison on the money laundering count.

In preparation for the 2002 elections, DeLay cloned his Americans for a Republican Majority political committee as Texans for a Republican Majority. TRMPAC was designed to help Republicans win a state House majority in preparation for a mid-decade congressional redistricting in 2003.…

Right-Wing Alarmist Pam Geller: The “Ground Zero Mosque” Is The “Second Wave Of The 9/11 Attack”

pamelagellar

Normally I don’t give Pam Geller much credence, as her views are extreme and embarrassing; but she is quoted often in the mainstream media, and held up by conservatives as a serious person.  She received an award at David Horowitz’s Restoration Weekend “for her efforts in defense of Judeo-Christian civilization,” and continued her vile, incendiary rhetoric. (via Think Progress)

GELLER: You have to understand that we’re in a war. We are at war now. It’s not coming. It’s not around the corner. We’re at war now. The GZM is the second wave of the 9/11 attack.…We are under …

Obama Pardons Turkey: Far Right Reacts

obama.turkey.pardon.cnn_.640x360

by Stuart Shapiro

President Obama gave the annual pardon of a turkey for Thanksgiving today.  Reactions were swift:

Newt Gingrich called Obama “soft on crime.”

Jim Demint said it was evidence of a “far left vegetarian agenda.”

Rush Limbaugh made a thinly-veiled racist reference.

Sarah Palin claimed we were at war with Turkey and Obama should not apologize for America.

OK, none of this happened.  But would any of it surprise you?

Happy Thanksgiving to all (even Republicans!).…

Jimmy Carter Suggests Direct Talks With North Korea

JimmyCarterCROP

Former President Jimmy Carter says the United States and North Korea should talk directly. There is a precedent, with which Carter was involved.

The North has threatened armed conflict before. Nearly eight years ago, I wrote on this page about how in June 1994 President Kim Il Sung expelled International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) inspectors and proclaimed that spent fuel rods could be reprocessed into plutonium. Kim threatened to destroy Seoul if increasingly severe sanctions were imposed on his nation.

Desiring to resolve the crisis through direct talks with the United States, Kim invited me to Pyongyang to discuss …

Sarah Palin Says We Need To Stand With Our North Korean Allies

alg_sarah_palin-300x225

Sarah Palin is asked by Glenn Beck on his radio show what we should do about the current North Korea crisis:

“Well, North Korea, this is stemming from I think, a greater problem when we’re all, you know, sittin’ around askin’, ‘Oh, no, what are we gonna do,’ and we’re not having a lotta faith that the White House is gonna come out with a strong enough policy to sanction what it is North Korea is gonna do, so this speaks to a bigger picture that certainly scares me in terms of our national security policy, but obviously some stand …

Palin Book Attacks Obama’s Love Of America

palin-book-articleInline

Sarah Palin’s new book is short on policy, but long on attacks; however, unlike her last book which attacked the McCain campaign, this tome is an anti-Obama screed, recycling many of the attacks the president faced when he ran for the Oval Office. Obama’s name appears 44 times in the book, 8 of which involve the anti-reform term “Obamacare.” Many of the attacks center around Palin’s belief that Obama doesn’t love his country.  (For those unsure which country, that would be America.)

She says Mr. Obama and the Democratic party thinks “something is wrong with our country and what …
