Motor Trend: Part Of The Liberal Media?

Motor Trend recently named the Chevrolet Volt, a car that will allow unprecedented cutbacks in gasoline consumption, its car of the year. Rush Limbaugh recently aired a diatribe against the designation with his typically low facts/blowhard ratio. Yesterday, Motor Trend responded:…
All the shouting from you or from electric car purists on the left can’t distort the fact that the Chevy Volt is, indeed, a technological breakthrough. And it’s more. It’s a technological breakthrough that many American families can use for gas-free daily commutes and well-planned vacation drives. It’s expensive for a Chevy, but many of

The Mendacity of Hope: Barack Obama and the Betrayal of American Liberalism by Roger D. Hodge
Roger D. Hodge certainly knows a few big words (“mendacity” means deception – I had to look it up) but he has completely overlooked a simple fact about Barack Obama. He’s the President of the United States, not the king of them.
Hodge doesn’t think Obama has lived up to the promise, but there is much more to the story.
The promised Change might not be …

The developers behind the controversial Islamic center in lower Manhattan are seeking a $5 million grant for the development of lower Manhattan. Sharif El-Gamal, developer of the site, acknowledges the request.
He said the grant would fund social service programs open to all lower Manhattan residents–such as domestic-violence prevention, Arabic and other foreign language classes–and two multicultural art exhibits.
Grant money would not go to pay for the mosque at the 13-story center two blocks from Ground Zero, according to a report posted on TheDailyBeast.com Monday.
But that won’t stop those opposed to the project from objecting to the grant, …

Medicaid works by splitting costs between the states and the federal governments for the medical care of our neediest citizens. States agree to cover certain groups of individuals and in return the federal government provides between 50 and 80% of the costs. All states participate, but for the first time in the history of the program, some are considering dropping out.
Elected and appointed officials in nearly a half-dozen states, including Washington, Texas and South Carolina, have publicly thrown out the idea. Wyoming and Nevada this year produced detailed studies of what would happen should they withdraw …

In a taped interview set to air tonight with Sean Hannity on Fox News, Sarah Palin reveals that she will not be doing any more interviews with Katie Couric. According to Palin it is a “waste of time for her” to do an interview “with a reporter who already has such a bias against whatever it is that [she] would come out and say.” Palin is determined to “clean up the state that is so sorry today of journalism” by only speaking to reporters “who still understand that cornerstone of our democracy, that expectation that the …

Kentucky Senator-elect Rand Paul downplayed his opposition to the 1964 Civil Rights Act and other extreme positions during his Senate campaign, but now more is coming out about what he believes. In a 2009 interview with 9/11 truther Alex Jones, Paul compared President Obama to Hitler and said health care reform would lead to martial law. (via Think Progress)
Paul casually compared President Obama to Hitler. “I think times of crisis is when we have to worry the most about things. You know, Rahm Emanuel, who’s chief adviser to President Obama, said ‘let no good crisis go past without …

Last month it was George Schultz; now it is former Republican Congressman Sherwood Boehlert. Boehlert penned an op-ed in the Washington Post calling on his former comrades to acknowledge human caused climate change.
National Journal reported last month that 19 of the 20 serious GOP Senate challengers declared that the science of climate change is either inconclusive or flat-out wrong. Many newly elected Republican House members take that position. It is a stance that defies the findings of our country’s National Academy of Sciences, national scientific academies from around the world and 97 percent of the …
