Santa Lives In The Manhattan Neighborhood Of Chelsea, Apartment 7A
Jim and Dylan mysteriously began receiving letters to Santa at their New York apartment. It began with a few letters one year; but this year more 400 arrived. Jim and Dylan didn’t have the heart to return the letters only to have a child see “address unknown.” And they couldn’t fulfill the wish of very child. So, they found a unique way to handle what others might have totally rejected. As it turns out, there really is a Santa Claus.

The Truth About Santa Claus
Saint Nicholas was born in Greco-Roman Lycia, part of modern-day Turkey known as Demre.
During his life, Constantine became Emperor, following Diocletian who had persecuted Christians, including Nicholas. Christianity then flourished, replacing Greek and Roman Pagan deities, becoming the primary religion. However, after the Seljuk Turks conquest (11th–13th centuries) and with the Ottoman Empire’s long reign (14th–20th centuries), the dominant religion in this land, evangelized by the Apostle Paul, became Islamic. Today, after the expulsion of Greek Christians in 1922, 99.8%* of Turkish people are Muslim, though Turkey is officially a secular state.
In the early 1950s Turks realized …

Presidencies proceed in stages. All chief executives know that their best opportunity for passing major legislation occurs in their first year or two. The GOP victories in November only serve to highlight that point. Now the President will spend the next two years fighting with Congress over the budget and the debt ceiling. He will also work on implementing his victories from the first two years and using his powers to make up for legislation not passed. This has already started. In the category of implementation:
In a move to protect consumers, the Obama administration said …

The Obama administration has had fewer personnel changes than most, but expect some shuffling after the first of the year.
A reshaping of the economic team, beginning by naming a new director of the National Economic Council, is among the most urgent priorities of the new year. Gene Sperling, a counselor to the Treasury secretary who held the position in the Clinton administration, is among the final contenders to succeed Lawrence H. Summers in the job, along with Roger C. Altman, a Wall Street investment banker who also served in the Clinton administration.
There is speculation about change in the …

When it comes to gay-bashing, Bryan Fischer of the American Family Association never disappoints. He believes that with the repeal of “Don’t Ask Don’t Tell” gays in the military no longer have an excuse to bail. Because we all know gays join the military so they can leave the military. And let’s not forget that gays are “limp-wristed.” (h/t RightWingWatch)
With the repeal of the law prohibiting homosexual service in the United States military, they just lost their “get out of jail free” card…
According to the Pentagon, “approximately 85% of discharges for homosexual conduct have been made …

It’s a common meme circulating the Internet, but it bears repeating both because it is correct and, outside those who pay a lot of attention to politics, it is not sufficiently appreciated. The Congressional session that just ended with the most productive lame duck session ever, was indeed historical.
“I would probably rank the New Deal [Congress] first,” congressional scholar Norm Ornstein told First Read. “I think this one edges the Great Society. It is at least on par with the Great Society.”
“For all the dysfunction, it was just astonishing what they were able to …

Anyone who reads this site regularly probably knows my feelings on the tax cut “compromise” Obama made with the Senate Republicans. It was my opinion that Obama could have reached a better agreement if he had made his case more properly to the American people, and many other liberals agreed with me (including many of the readers of this site). One argument that liberals on the other side made is that once tax cuts for the rich was passed then Republicans would “release the hostages” and allow other progressive priorities in the lame-duck session to pass. When …

Imagine if a group of liberals went overseas to address an organization deemed a terrorist group by our State Department that a Republican president was an appeaser. Reverse the parties, and you have Rudy Giuliani, Tom Ridge, Frances Townsend, and Michael Mukasey in Paris addressing Mujaheddin-e Khaliq, steaming up this Iranian opposition group about our president and urging they be taken off the terrorist list.
“Appeasement of dictators leads to war, destruction and the loss of human lives,” Giuliani declared. “For your organization to be described as a terrorist organization is just really a disgrace.”
The four GOP figures …
