White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs has announced he is leaving his post to become an outside advisor to the president during his reelection campaign. He is expected to end his reign in February.

Top contenders to replace him are Deputy Press Secretaries Bill Burton and Josh Earnest, and Vice President Biden’s press secretary, Jay Carney.
