Mitt Romney Rewrites His Book, Just As He’s Rewritten His Views
Presidential hopeful Mitt Romney has rewritten his book No Apology, which is ironic in that it is clear he is thus apologizing for his previous version. In the new version he is more critical of the economic stimulus plan and reworks his take on health care reform. This is necessary if you spearheaded the same kind of reforms that President Obama did but now you want to be critical of them.
The rewritten version proclaims that “Obamacare will not work and should be repealed,” and “Obamacare is an unconstitutional federal incursion into the rights of states.” Romney also blames the Massachusetts legislature for altering his plan and says criticizes current Gov. Deval Patrick (D) “for botching the implementation.”
But the key opposition to what is derisively called “Obamacare” is the individual mandate, and that is exactly what Romney signed into law and praised when he was governor of Massachusetts. Romney has flip-flopped on Afghanistan, and Bush tax cuts, professed to be more pro-gay than Ted Kennedy, and supported abortion rights. Oh, and let’s not forget that Romney promoted an NRA endorsement that didn’t exist and once claimed he marched with Martin Luther King, Jr, something his spokesperson later had to deny.Click here for reuse options!
