Most In Wisconsin Disagree With Governor Walker

A We Ask America poll shows that the governor does not have majority support for his policy on teachers (via Political Wire).

As you may know, Gov. Scott Walker has proposed a plan to limit the pay of government workers and teachers, increase their share of the cost of benefits, and strip some public-employ unions of much of their power. We’d like to know if APPROVE or DISAPPROVE of Gov. Walker’s plan.

While 43.05% approve, 51.90% don’t, and, and 5.05% don’t know. But the majority also want Democratic legislators to return from their Illinois winter vacations and get back …

You are the worst kind of Jew – the ultra liberal piece useful idiot that endangers the entire Jewish community.  You don’t know jack about Islam.   Have the docs remove your head from your ass the next time you have a colonoscopy.

No thanks, Leonard, my head is protected in there.

Gov. Kasich Stands Up To Cops: At Least If They Give Him A Ticket

kasich2-sized1

by Stuart Shapiro

Policemen overstepping their bounds is often an issue that motivates the left. It seems that the Republican Governor of Ohio also has an issue with cops.  He recently called an officer who gave him a ticket an “idiot” in a speech to the Ohio EPA.  It turns out that this is a pattern for the recently elected governor.

Back in December Kasich made two statements about officers ‘sneaking’ and ‘hiding’.

During a press conference with the Highway Patrol Kasich said:

“You got some patrolman sneaking in the weeds somewhere getting you going 2 miles an hour …

Congresswoman Reveals Having Had Abortion

California Democratic Congresswoman Jackie Speier took aim at Republican Chris Smith of New Jersey for making defunding of Planned Parenthood a priority while minimizing the difficulty women and their families have when deciding whether or not to have abortions (via Plum Line). This goes to the heart of conservative arguments against abortion, that women view abortion as birth control and don’t struggle with what can be torturous decisions that are often made because of health issues.

“I really planned to speak about something else. But the gentleman from New Jersey just put my stomach in knots. Because I’m one …

Wisconsin Governor Caused Crisis He Now Wants To “Solve” On The Backs Of Public Servants

scott-walker-new-2011-2-cropped-proto-custom_2

With GOP spokesman Rush Limbaugh claiming the word “worker” is Marxist, it’s good to know Wisconsin Democrats are standing up for them again today. And it was Governor Scott Walker who caused the problems he wants to solve by union busting.

Walker claims that the state is broke. However, the Wisconsin Fiscal Bureau, a sort of in-state CBO, disagrees with Walker and projects a net positive balance of 56 million for the state by the end of June, 2011 (read their report here, PDF). Further, the Bureau argues that the state would have had an additional $139.7 $202.8 …

Indiana Bill Would Allow Guns Almost Everywhere

tomes

Republican legislators in Indiana are fighting for the right to carry guns just about everywhere: in libraries, parks, arenas, even the 2012 Super Bowl at Lucas Oil Stadium.

Senate Bill 292 is already well on its way to becoming a reality. It passed the Senate with overwhelming support Monday. Many Hoosiers are now scrambling to stop it.

“It’s a very serious bill,” said Jennifer Simmons, of the Indiana Association of Cities and Towns.

The agency, she said, is vehemently opposed. She said it takes local control away from a potentially deadly situation.

“It would take away our ability to regulate …

Paul Ryan Talks Out Of Both Sides Of His Mouth

PaulRyan-BrendanHoffman

by Stuart Shapiro

Catching a leading Republican in logical inconsistencies is not terribly difficult.  As a matter of fact, they seem to come so quickly that catching all of them is the trick.  Rep. Paul Ryan managed to pack several in a statement at a Budget Committee hearing yesterday.  Jonathan Chait points out the problems.

Okay, first Ryan lambastes President Obama for raising taxes, and in the next sentence accuses him of abdicating his leadership. Now, Ryan advocates the loopy supply-side view that tax hikes will “make our fiscal picture worse,” so I suppose there’s an internal consistency of sorts …

Rush Limbaugh: “Liberalism Needs To Be Eradicated”; “Worker” Is “A Marxist Term”

RUSH1-300x261

If Rush Limbaugh doesn’t hate liberals, he does an excellent job pretending he does to make a lot of money (via Mediaite). A caller defending unions unleashed the wrath of Limbaugh.

“I oppose liberalism wherever it is. I oppose liberalism because liberalism is what has destroyed prosperity in this country. The rise of liberalism, the rise of public school education or indoctrination taught by liberal, marxist teachers as responsible for your precious lack of morality – plummeting morality, plummeting education scores, plummeting knowledge – your precious liberalism is responsible for it. And wherever it is, I want it defeated.”…
