Florida Gov. Scott Doesn’t Do Email (Corrected)

If you have a suggestion for Governor Rick Scott of Florida, send it to him via the postal service, as he doesn’t do email. After all, email is so this century. If you go to the state website, it says you can email the Lt. Governor, but not the governor. Scott’s reasoning:
“If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to send me, I don’t have e-mail,” Scott said. “It’s easier if I never get e-mailed. I get embarrassed by it that way. It’s not as easy to communicate,” Scott said. “Have a great day.”
Note: I originally …

I wear my label as a policy wonk proudly. Therefore I like to think that the label brings with it a certain level of sophistication. But it seems like the path to being called a wonk is getting easier and easier. Apparently all one has to do is say something vaguely related to policy and use complete sentences. Jonathan Chait explains how Sen. Marco Rubio has become qualified as a wonk (h/t Steve Benen).
Jennifer Rubin has an item headlined, “Marco Rubio continues to impress,” which gushes over Rubio’s deep grasp of public policy. Here’s the …

Rebecca Black refused to be cowed by the haters who mocked her for Ark Music Factory-produced pop video “Friday” and refused to have it removed from YouTube when offered the chance. Black has a wonderful voice, even without the help of Auto-Tune, and deserves all the good things that will likely come her way, like the hundreds of thousands of dollars she’s likely to realize for her efforts. “I decided not to give the haters the satisfaction that they got me so bad.”

New Jersey Superior Court Judge Peter Doyne has ruled that Governor Chris Christie’s cuts to school aid have rendered the state’s schools unable to provide “a thorough and efficient education” to the 1.4 million children there. Doyne also found that the cuts “fell more heavily upon our high risk districts and the children educated within those districts.”
Christie slashed state aid by $820 million last year, and Doyne found that altogether, the state would have needed twice that much — $1.6 billion — to fully fund the School Funding Reform Act formula.
Following arguments before the Supreme Court earlier this …

Claiming to Christianity Today that, “We are a Judeo-Christian nation,” Republican presidential hopeful Herman Cain says he resents that Muslims want to convert “the rest of us.” (h/t Think Progress)
The role of Muslims in American society is for them to be allowed to practice their religion freely, which is part of our First Amendment. The role of Muslims in America is not to convert the rest of us to the Muslim religion. That I resent. Because we are a Judeo-Christian nation, from the fact that 85 percent of us are self-described Christians, or evangelicals, or practicing …

The media get excited by war…and sometimes something is lost in that initial excitement, It reminds me of eight years ago this very weekend, when shock and awe was rained down upon Baghdad and the media utterly failed to ask skeptical questions…What if there’s a long-term stalemate here? What is this goes on and on? What if there are American casualties? Do you stop this
