I saw this bumper sticker in a parking lot in Miami. I’d bet anything the owner of this car only votes for candidates who are in favor of the death penalty. And if I’m wrong about that, double-or-nothing this person would rather see funding cuts to social programs before cuts to military spending.

Family Radio’s Harold Camping, pusher of the apocalypse, is flabbergasted. He tells the SF Chronicle, “It has been a really tough weekend.”
“I’m looking for answers,” Camping said, adding that meant frequent prayer and consultations with friends.
“But now I have nothing else to say,” he said, closing the door to his home. “I’ll be back to work Monday and will say more then.”

The upcoming National Football League season is in danger because of a labor dispute between the owners and the players. Famed social scientist (not!) and linebacker Ray Lewis puts forward an interesting argument for ending the lockout.
