Weinergate Woman Speaks

alg_gennette_cordova

Gennette Cordova, the Seattle woman who received a suggestive photo ostensibly from the Twitter account of Rep. Anthony Weiner, has penned a response published in the New York Daily News.

Friday evening I logged onto Twitter to find that I had about a dozen new mentions in less than an hour, which is a rare occurrence. When I checked one of the posts that I had been tagged in I saw that it was a picture that had supposedly been tweeted to me by Congressman Anthony Weiner.

The account that these tweets were sent from was familiar to me; …

Sarah Palin: “I Love The Smell Of [Motorcycle] Emissions”

palinmotorcycles1

When you talk to the NRA you tell them how much you love guns. When you talk to a Christian group you tell them how much you love God. And when you’re at a motorcycle event, you tell them how much you love exhaust fumes.

Palin, when asked if the events on her upcoming tour would all be as loud as today’s motorcycle-filled procession, and she responded by yelling back (emphasis by way of all caps and italics hers):

Indeed, average one-way …

Right Wing Attacking Obama For Chewing Gum At Joplin Memorial Service

The right wing’s latest attack on President Obama is that he was allegedly chewing gum at the Joplin, MO memorial service. Gateway Pundit sarcastically writes “Classy” and suggests he learned these manners at Trinity Church. Then it is suggested it must be Nicorette, because we know that no conservative has ever tried to quit smoking. This is all they’ve got.

Eric Cantor Doubles Down On Using Disaster Victims As Hostages To Spending Cuts

alg_eric_cantor

By Yashwanth Manjunath

Last week Alan mentioned how Eric Cantor is denying emergency disaster relief funds to tornado victims in Joplin, MO unless they are first paid for with politically-motivated spending cuts. Today on CBS’ Face the Nation Cantor doubled down on using the tornado victims as political hostages for spending cuts to clean energy. He compared the situation to that of a family facing an unexpected expenditure.

“Because families don’t have unlimited money,” Cantor said. “And, really, neither does the federal government.”

I could go into all of the different macroeconomic reasons why comparing the budget of the United …
