Limbaugh: Heat Wave A Government Conspiracy

heat-wave-300x195

by Stuart Shapiro

Usually I try to ignore Rush Limbaugh because I’m not even sure how much he believes what he says (Rush is all about the ratings — he may even be rooting for an Obama re-election since it will help him).  But I post so often about climate change, I couldn’t let this one go by.

Rush said this [is] just normal weather, “Drudge is just linking to other people reporting this. He’s not saying it. I don’t want to misunderstand, but he’s linking to stories which say 116 in Washington. No. It’s what 100, 97, 99? It’s …

God Has 52% Approval Rating

Public Policy Polling:

Though not the most popular figure PPP has polled, if God exists, voters are prepared to give it good marks…

When asked to evaluate God on some of the issues it is responsible for, voters give God its best rating on creating the universe, 71-5. They also approve of its handling of the animal kingdom 56-11, and even its handling of natural disasters 50-13. Young voters are prepared to be more critical of God on natural disasters with those 18-29 rating it 59-26 compared to 47-12 among those over 65.…

The Federal Election Commission says he owes them $2.3 million.

Allen West Deals The Race Card: Wasserman Schultz And Dems Attack Me Because I’m Black

Allen West proves once again that he is ill-suited for the rough-and-tumble world of politics.

West appeared Wednesday evening on the Mark Levin radio show, and criticized Wasserman Schultz for, among other things, her remarks against his vote on the House Republicans’ budget proposal (for which he sent the e-mail), and for having organized a protest outside his campaign headquarters during the 2010 campaign in which he was accused of sexism. No mention was made during the interview about the conflicting reports that he claimed to have apologized, though both his own office and Wasserman Schultz say he has not.…

Maine Governor Paul LePage Joins Texas’ Rick Perry To Promote “Day Of Prayer”

Paul-LePage

Submitted by William

Christian groups are applauding the August 6 “Day of Prayer,” but not everyone thinks states should be promoting one religion over another.

The day-of-prayer proclamation was signed by LePage June 6 following Perry’s appeal in May to the nation’s other governors to support the event.

In the proclamation, LePage writes that a day of prayer is an opportunity for Mainers to “turn to God in humility for wisdom, mercy and direction” during “times of trouble.”

…”According to the Bible, the answer to a nation in such crisis is to gather in humility and repentance and ask God …

$70 Billion Of U.S. Money Missing In Afghansistan; Could Be With Insurgents

fsl_hamid_karsai_af_763629g

A new audit shows that we’ve not properly tracked money sent to Afghanistan and tens of billions of dollars are vulnerable to winding up in the hands of insurgents. The audit says both countries are to blame.

How bad is it? Afghan President Hamid Karzai has barred U.S. government advisers from the Afghan central bank, according to Treasury officials who called the bank a “hostile” environment. Nobody is writing down the serial numbers of the cash flying through customs at Kabul International Airport. And the U.S. is having trouble identifying financial crimes because Afghan officials are reluctant to prosecute.…

Georgia Postpones Execution To Work Out Videotaping Details

Andrew DeYoung will just have to wait while they work out the details of the first execution to be videotaped since 1992.

The video recording was requested by attorneys for another Georgia death row inmate who wanted evidence to show that Georgia’s reconfigured three-drug lethal injection procedure does not adequately sedate the inmate.

State prosecutors opposed it because they said the inmates have failed to prove that the drug pentobarbital causes undue suffering, and because they worried it could open the door to more executions being recorded.

DeYoung was convicted of stabbing his parents and sister to death in 1993 …

Michael Eric Dyson: Congress Against Obama Because The Country Is “In The Hands Of The Black”

Picture-152

Professor Michael Eric Dyson, trying to make sense as to why Republicans oppose Obama on policies where they previously supported presidents of both parties, has an explanation.

…for Georgetown Professor Michael Eric Dyson, the answer is obvious: “Congress will not vote to put the economy in the black is [sic] because the country is in the hands of the black.”

…Immediately catching himself, Dyson added the caveat that his comment sounded “extraordinarily harsh and divisive,” but that “there seems to be no logical or reasonable answer.” He went on to conclude that Republicans “refuse to see the legitimacy and …
