DC Police Offer To Let Gun Dealer Operate Out Of Department Headquarters

Generic+Handgun+722+x+406

DC police would give Charles Sykes, the city’s only gun dealer, a place to do business.

The city will permit Sykes to use space at the Metropolitan Police Department headquarters, Mayor Vincent Gray said Wednesday. He’ll be allowed to set up shop in the tight security offices where guns are registered.

“It seemed to make sense to us to locate close to MPD’s firearms registration office at police headquarters on Indiana Avenue, where anyone purchasing a firearm must come anyway to register their guns,” Gray said.…

Why Conservatives Should Support Mandatory Contraception Coverage

birthcontrol

It will cut down on abortions.

Defending its recommendations on contraceptive coverage, the panel said that nearly half of all pregnancies in the United States were unintended, and that about 40 percent of unintended pregnancies ended in abortion. Thus, it said, greater use of contraception would reduce the rates of unintended pregnancy, teenage pregnancy and abortion.

…the panel’s report says that “contraception is highly cost-effective,” averting unintended pregnancies that would be far more expensive than contraception.

To reduce unintended pregnancies, the panel said, insurers should cover the full range of contraceptive methods approved by the Food and Drug Administration, …

A Bumper Sticker Allen West Would Love?

awbumper

by Gabe Berman
Gabe is the author of Live Like a Fruit Fly

Allen West and I live near each other in South Florida and I just saw this bumper sticker on a car as I walked out of a grocery store.

God, Guns and Hate. Throw Pro Life in there and this message is officially ridiculous enough for the congressman.

I’m thoroughly embarrassed for our country that a man like this can get elected to office. As a spiritual writer, my limits of forgiveness are tested by West and those who voted for him.…

Chris Christie Would Have Trouble Getting Reelected In New Jersey

chris-christie-smiling-0666b5b1014f73b8

Public Policy Polling doesn’t look good for Christie’s future in his home state.

Key findings: Just 43% of voters in the state approve of the job Christie is doing to 53% who disapprove. Christie’s numbers are steady with Republicans. But independents have really turned on him since January, going from approving by a 55% to 39% margin to disapproving by a 54% to 40% margin.…

Right-Wing Rabbi Blames Murder Of Eight-Year-Old Boy On Gay Marriage

Rabbi Yehuda Levin, who supports the anti-gay National Organization for Marriage, is blaming the horrific death of an eight-year-old boy on Jews who support gay marriage and abortion rights.

If those three or fourth thousand people [who searched for the boy when we went missing], at the direction of the greater Israel and their leaders and their common sense, would have come out, maybe, against the marriage, against this final nail in the coffin of morality…maybe we wouldn’t have had to had this episode of Amalek [evil] replay itself.

Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz Responds To Allen West

161954100-20063847

Congressman Allen West launched a nasty personal attack on Debbie Wasserman Schultz because Schultz, without mentioning West by name, highlighted the deleterious effects of policies he supports. A spokesperson for Wasserman Schlultz has now responded.

“I don’t think that Congressman West is upset at the congresswoman, but rather with the fact that she highlighted that he and other Republicans are once again trying to balance the budget on the backs of seniors, children and the middle class,” Jonathan Beeton, spokesman for Wasserman Schultz, said in an email.…

Federal Appeals Court: Call For Obama Assassination Is Free Speech

48331827

A La Mesa man’s call to “shoot” the president on an Internet chat site is  considered free speech says a federal appeals court.

Walter Bagdasarian was found guilty two years ago of making threats against a major presidential candidate in comments he posted on a Yahoo.com financial website after 1 a.m. on Oct. 22, 2008, as Obama’s impending victory in the race for the White House was becoming apparent. Bagdasarian told investigators he was drunk at the time.…
