South Carolina Tea Party Chair Jokes About Killing The Obamas
Shery Lanford Smith, Chairwoman of the Sumter Tea Party in South Carolina, thinks this is hilarious. Smith defended the joke, but removed it after the Sumter Item wanted a comment.

The “single biggest thing” President Obama can do to create jobs is to allow more immigration, says New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg.
“Most importantly, we want to get immigrants from around the world to come to America,” Bloomberg said in an interview with the “CBS Early Show.”
“That’s the single biggest thing that the president could do with Congress, is open up the borders to those that will create jobs here.”
Bloomberg said unemployment was lower in New York City than in other parts of the country because of his administration’s focusing on small business, using training programs and …

Republicans are against tax increases, right? We’ve heard little else over the past few months. Well it turns out, the Republicans, as represented by a House Leadership member, Rep. Jeb Hensarling (pictured), have a tax they want to raise.
Many of the same Republicans who fought hammer-and-tong to keep the George W. Bush-era income tax cuts from expiring on schedule are now saying a different “temporary” tax cut should end as planned. By their own definition, that amounts to a tax increase.
The tax break extension they oppose is sought by President Barack Obama. Unlike …

On The 700 Club Pat Robertson says he has discovered the antichrist, and it is Islam.
Robertson: I think the Antichrist is Islam. I really do, and I think it’s a system.
[Co-host Terry] Meeuwsen: It’s a system more than person?
Robertson: It’s both, it’s centered on Mohammed, who defied Jesus, he said Jesus wasn’t the son of God, I mean that’s Antichrist. And I think the system is the Antichrist system, because they’re trying to destroy the Jews and there’s a hatred, a virulent hatred, of Christians and Jews. So could that be it? I …

Rick Perry’s communications director, Ray Sullivan, says Rick Perry’s book, Fed Up, doesn’t reflect his current views.
In an interview, Mr. Sullivan acknowledged that many passages in Mr. Perry’s “Fed Up!” could dog his presidential campaign. The book, Mr. Sullivan said, “is a look back, not a path forward.” It was written “as a review and critique of 50 years of federal excesses, not in any way as a 2012 campaign blueprint or manifesto,” Mr. Sullivan said.
The campaign’s disavowal of “Fed Up!” is itself very new. On Sunday evening, at Mr. Perry’s first campaign stop in Iowa, …

Donald Trump’s argument is “to the victor go the spoils;” hence, we should go take Libya’s oil.
During Trump’s call-in on FNC’s Fox and Friends, Trump picked up the endorsement of actor Rob Lowe, who proclaimed he’d be a “great” president.

Senators John McCain and Lindsey Graham issued a joint statement on the Libyan situation, making sure not to thank America upfront, and, eventually, to blame the United States for not doing more sooner.
Americans can be proud of the role our country has played in helping to defeat Qaddafi, but we regret that this success was so long in coming due to the failure of the United States to employ the full weight of our airpower.
We can argue about whether going into Libya is good foreign policy, but to then carp about why it wasn’t done faster isn’t something …

I supported then-Senator Obama over Senator Clinton from pretty early on in 2008. I believed that Obama would be the more effective candidate in the general election and that Clinton was too aggressive on foreign policy. Now, as the president’s approval ratings sag (temporarily I believe), many are pining for what might have been. This is silly as Clinton supporter Rebecca Traister writes.
Rather than reveling in these flights of reverse political fancy, I find myself wanting the revisionist Hillary fantasists — Clintonites and reformed Obamamaniacs alike — to just shut up already.
I understand the impulse …

Michele Bachmann punctuates her experience by mentioning her work as a litigator an involvement in “hundreds of civil and criminal cases,” but that may not accurately reflect her career as a tax attorney.
In her tenure as an IRS attorney in St. Paul, however, it appears that Bachmann seldom entered a courtroom and fully litigated only two cases in four-plus years, according to judicial records. Co-workers from the time describe her as pleasant and professional, but cannot recall one important case or criminal prosecution she handled…
Bachmann did not respond to interview requests or written questions about her …
