The greedy corporate executives who use their fortunes to buy politicians in both parties, the corrupt government bureaucrats who leave their jobs to go work as lobbyists for the companies that they were supposed to be regulating, and the twisted set of priorities by the powerful people in Washington who make all of the important decisions; all make politics extremely depressing to write about (which is why I sometimes feel the need to step back and take a break from it all). But occasionally there is actually a positive story so touching and beautiful that it makes …

Ranger Widow Removed From Rumsfeld Book Signing

AoL52.St_.5

Donald Rumsfeld’s book signing at Joint Base Lewis-McChord in Washington State was disturbed by the widow of an army ranger who blames government lies perpetrated by Rumsfeld for her husband’s suicide.

Security officers for the former secretary of defense escorted Ashley Joppa-Hagemann out by the arm, she said Saturday. She and Jorge Gonzalez, the executive director of Coffee Strong, a Lakewood-based anti-war group, confronted Rumsfeld as he promoted his memoir, “Known and Unknown.”

According to an account posted on Coffee Strong’s website: “Mrs. Joppa-Hagemann introduced herself by handing a copy of her husband’s funeral program to Rumsfeld, and telling him …

Let’s see how this works out for you: Tell the families of the forty-one people who lost their lives that the storm wasn’t catastrophic enough for your approval.

As a survivor of Hurricane Andrew, Wilma and Katrina, I offer this advice: Feel flushed with gratitude instead of dwelling on anger with the media.  Actually, this will work …

Limbaugh: Obama Wanted Irene To Be A Disaster; IE, You Can’t Take Rush Seriously

Should we really believe that President Obama believes that not enough people died via Hurricane Irene? And does any sane, rational person really think the president of the United States wanted a bigger disaster?

“I’m going to tell you something, the hysterical reporting on Irene? They couldn’t wait for this storm. Obama- I’ll guarantee you this. I’ll guarantee you that Obama was hoping this was going to be a disaster an another excuse for his failing economy. If he’s out there blaming tsunamis, blaming earthquakes, and whatever other natural disasters there are. This one was made to order …

Rick Perry Has Double Digit Lead Over Mitt Romney

636_PerryRomney

Perry’s entrance into the race has made him the frontrunner.

Public Policy Polling (PPP) would not reveal the exact results of the survey in advance of its release, but PPP’s Director Tom Jensen confirmed Perry’s double-digit advantage to NewsCore.

The poll of Republican primary voters by the Democratically-aligned polling company will be the second to show Perry with a lead nationally since the three-term Texas governor entered the contest.

A Rasmussen Reports national poll out Aug. 16 showed Perry leading Romney by 11 points, 29 percent to 18 percent.
