Wisconsin Senator Wants Bill Equating Single Parenthood With Child Abuse

State Senator Glenn Grothman’s bill reads, in part:

Section 2. 48.982 (2) (g) 4. of the statutes is amended to read:
48.982 (2) (g) 4. Disseminate information about the problems of and methods of preventing child abuse and neglect to the public and to organizations concerned with those problems. In disseminating that information, the board shall emphasize nonmarital parenthood as a contributing factor to child abuse and neglect.

Sorry Alan, that you are so misinformed. A GOVERNMENT AGENCY, US Dept. of Health & Human Services, has published this information, not Grothman: “Children living with single parents may be at higher risk of experiencing physical and sexual abuse and neglect than children living with two biological parents” (https://www.childwelfare.gov/pubs/usermanuals/foundation/foundatione.cfm). But then again, those in LaLaLand rarely let the facts interfere with “beliefs.” By the way, “contributing factor” does not mean “equate” any more than “death” is attributed to “eating peanut butter,” since everyone who eats peanut butter will eventually die.
