Jason “J.T.” Ready was a neo-Nazi sympathizer who led anti-immigration patrols in Arizona. Ready opened fire on three adults and a toddler inside a Gilbert, AZ home before turning the gun on himself.

Ready was also the founder of Americans First, which the the Southern Poverty Law Center calls a “prominent, Arizona-based nativist extremist organization.” He was a Maricopa County Republican precinct committeeman and a former president of the Mesa Community College Republican Club.

He advocated deadly force to stop Mexicans from crossing the U.S. border illegally, says the SPLC, which tracks extremist groups. “I firmly believe in having a minefield across the border. This is 100% effective,” he said in one video.
