Romney Surrogate Thinks Investing In Green Energy Is Like The Soviet Union, Can’t Respond When Reminded Romney Did The Same Thing
Wisconsin Senator Ron Johnson repeated the debunked claim of Solyndra being an example of cronyism and blasted the government for investing in green energy companies, comparing the practice to the Soviet Union and Cuba. But he changed the subject when Soledad O’Brien noted that Romney did the same thing in Massachusetts.
O’BRIEN: Didn’t it work in Massachusetts? Isn’t that exactly what Governor Romney did in Massachusetts in green energy when he was the governor of Massachusetts?
JOHNSON: Listen, the path we need to take this country on is with free enterprise system, the private sector that creates long term self-sustaining jobs and that’s exactly what Governor Romney would do as President Romney.
