Northeast U.S. Has Hottest Year Ever
That’s the word from the Northeast Regional Climate Center at Cornell.
“…the average temperature in the region was 49.9 degrees from January through July.
“That’s the warmest seven-month start to a year since record-keeping began in 1895. The previous record was 49.2 degrees in 1921.
“The worst day so far was July 18, when temps hit 101 degrees at La Guardia, while reaching 104 in Newark and Baltimore, and 100 in Philadelphia, according to the climate center.”
