The plaintiff, a 46-year old Manhattan woman says the defendant, a major Republican fundraiser, didn’t properly inform her that he had the virus.
The plaintiff in her complaint she contracted the sexually transmitted disease during a two-year relationship with the defendent, whom she met online.
The lawsuit filed in Manhattan Supreme Court said the relationship ended last fall when the plaintiff discovered her lover was having sex with other women, including prostitutes.
“Plaintiff became frightened defendant would infect her with AIDS,” according to the lawsuit.
The court filing alleges the defendant knew he had the virus that cause genital herpes, but never told the woman. She also claims he refused to wear a condom.
The lawsuit identifies the defendant as a 66-year-old GOP fundraiser who donated to Mitt Romney’s presidential campaign. The News is withholding his name for medical privacy issues.
