Former Mississippi governor and RNC Chairman Haley Barbour wagged a finger at his party, saying “stupid” and “offensive comments hurt them.

He was referencing [to] former GOP Senate hopefuls Richard Mourdock and Todd Akin, who both saw their campaigns go down in flames after making controversial comments related to rape.

Barbour’s tough comments echoed those of Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal, who said Thursday night at a gathering of Republicans that the GOP has to “stop being the stupid party.”
