Alabama Standoff Ends; Boy Safe; Kidnapper, Jimmy Lee Dykes, Dead

A boom was heard, followed by a gunshot Monday afternoon. FBI agents decided to enter the bunker says FBI special agent Stephen Richardson.

“Negotiations deteriorated and Mr. Dykes was observed holding a gun,” Richardson said at a press conference. “At this point, FBI agents, fearing the child was in imminent danger, entered the bunker and rescued the child.”
