The 33-year-old gunman opened fire in a St. Paul suburb.

olice in the town of Oakdale said the assailant, whose name was not immediately released, had fired two bursts of bullets at passing vehicles from a handgun before he was taken into custody on Monday evening.

“Initially it looks like a random shooting,” Captain Jack Kettler of the Oakdale Police told local NBC news affiliate KARE 11 TV.

“The individual was shooting at passing vehicles,” Kettler added. “We have no indication anybody else was involved in this.”
