Private insurers are the ONLY ones advocating for the consumer.
Think about it. If a patient’s copay or deductible is met, the American consumer DOESN’T CARE if the bill is $1000 or $100,000. Whatever the costs, the consumer believes he doesn’t get any better deal either way, so the consumer voluntarily removes himself from the negotiating process. This mindset allows medical providers to charge whatever they want.
That is the only reason that costs have run amok. And when healthcare costs rise, premiums rise. Insurers must by law mathematically show that raising premiums is justified. Insurers are the only force trying to keep costs down, because the consumers have removed themselves from the economic equation. Adding red tape and having the same government that regulates insurers to also “compete” with them is like making gymnastics judges compete with the gymnasts. Can you guess how that might impact their scores?
The only way to bring healthcare costs under control is to incentivize consumers to demand lower costs on an individual basis. One way to do that would be to tax benefits, (Obama categorically rejects this. Do you wonder why?). No other form of cost control has been offered, either. The reason is simple: Obama wants control over your most personal information and your health because he wants to control you.

Obviously, everyone draws their own conclusions. But if those responsible for reporting the facts can’t be trusted to either give all the facts or if their bias interferes with their interpretation of what is fact, what is your conclusion worth?

Since Roe v Wade mentions “viability” numerous times in the decision, and the definition of “viability” has changed dramatically in the ensuing 36 years, the decision has, in my opinion, been rendered invalid.
Therefore, one must each determine for himself a solitary moment when human life begins in order to define life, and therefore whom should have constitutional protection.
The only moment in human development that can legitimately be shown where one minute there was no life and the next there was, is conception.
I used to support “the right to choose”, as it definitely improved my chances on a Friday night.
But now, I believe to simplify abortion as a “choice” is the pinnacle of cynicism…and counterintuitive to liberty and liberalism.
…To the point where Nancy Pelosi can defend abortion because “They reduce cost. The states are in terrible fiscal budget crises now and part of what we do for children’s health.”
