November 17th, 2009 at 9:32 amYears ago (when my kids were in school) we hosted an exchange student from Japan, One day I had to go to court on work related business and took her with me to view our justice system. As we passed The right Honorable Justice Sheldon in the hallway, I introduced them to each other. Judge Sheldon began to speak to her in japanease. It turned out that his honor was stationed in Japan, as an enlisted man, later he went on to college and law school via the GI bill. Later his honor recognised her officially in court. I recall there was no ill feeling of who was superior to whom. I recall good will and dignity for all. I suppose at some point we should all aspire to put peace and understanding before the old “who can pee the furthest” mentality. …If only we could evolve to the dignity and understanding I saw that day.

As usual, the right wing nut cases start this crap, and when the left responds with facts and history they get all hurt and angry. How is it they have not yet figured out why their party fell apart? During the election Dems wanted to talk about health care and the war. The right just wanted to talk about Obama’s preacher, and his real estate agent. Dems wanted to talk about wall street collapse, and right wing radio idiots spent days talking about Obama’s birth certificate. Will they ever understand that rumor, innuendo may sell a.m. radio ratings, but do nothing to run a country. We are a nation in crisis, and all they can talk about is how deep the president bowed while performing a customary greeting.
The upside to all of this, is that while the right is distracted and embroiled with some heated debate on what the first lady should wear while on air force one, the real Americans can stay busy trying to fix the Bush mess
