Frankly, I think we are an arrogant nation. Obama was right, and the complaints about him are disingenuous.

And recognizing our own imperfections does not mean no one recognizes the good we’ve done.
The truth, hear me the truth, is that many conservatives don’t want criticism balanced with compliments, they want nothing but compliments, not just overseas, but in country as well.

The FOF connection gives this example greater news relevance. If Ovalle was an unknown whose name could not be tied in with a greater known like FOF, this would look like a post where Alan fished for a story. FOF gives the story national relevance.
No. The difference is that he is being accused of not being in keeping with his religious preachings. The claim about Islam is that it is the cause of terrorism. Now whatever the Qu’ran might say in it that is being used to justify terrorism, I believe a person of any religion can reason what is right and wrong, and favor compassion even when it goes against the tenets, or supposed ones, of their religion.
Of course conservatives and Republicans would be far less likely to be accused of hypocrisy if they didn’t preach so much, and if they took the righteous path of becoming atheists.
Because part of the obvious purpose of this blog is to give commentary on conservatives’ behavior. Mark Klaas, John Walsh, etc., are the people to look to for blanket commentary and condemnation of every person accused or convicted of sexually based crimes.
Probably to showcase the apparent (acknowledging that he has not yet been tried and convicted) hypocrisy of Ovalle. FOF is also important, as I should have considered and said, in this case for the semi-notoriety it gave Ovalle by using him as the voice of its Spanish language CDs.
Honestly, though, while I wouldn’t agree with labeling the organization as being hypocrites via this example alone, as Bliss, Willy, et al, would be correct in citing such a claim as guilt by association, posts like this aren’t really my favorites. It’s not the subject matter so much as it looks like Alan is basically repeating a news article without comment. I know somethings speak for themselves, but I tend to prefer that at least a few words be said by Alan when he posts.
