Student At Christian School Told He'll Be Suspened If He Goes To Prom
May 10th, 2009 at 12:37 pmI hope that Tyler Frost continues his ‘defiance’ of this silly ‘rule’. It’s one thing for the priests at this religious school to ban dancing from their own campus, but to force a student to ’sign’ an agreement promising not to dance at ANOTHER school, is ridiculous and harmful…
To say that it ‘teaches’ young students the importance of ‘contract’ is a bit far-fetched. These are kids, there is no contract, just a desire by religious fundamentalists to ‘control’ the sexual maturing, (or lack thereof) of their children.
You can’t wrap teenagers in cotton wool forever, you need to let them develop natural and health relationships with the opposite sex. You can’t do that by forced segregation, and treating sex as “taboo” and “dirty”. If you have raised your children and taught them to make good decisions, chances are they will make good decisions, at least 9 times out of ten.

While I agree with you that it’s none of your business (or mine), I disagree that there can be no gov’t involvement. The gov’t needs to uphold the rights afforded under the union, and one such right, to the pursuit of happiness, means that 30,000,000 Americans who are gay, lesbian or transgendered should have the right to be married, the same as YOU do.
As for your comment that you find two persons of the same sex having sex “gross”, I don’t believe you.
I believe that if you were in a threesome with 2 beautiful and exotic women on a desert Island, the last survivors of humanity, you would find it deep down inside of yourself to be aroused when those women kissed and fondled each other…

If they were REALLY using scripture to define marriage, you would not see “christians” being divorced and marrying a second, third, or even fourth time!

The bible tells straight men not to have gay sex. Good advice. It is unatural for straight men to “lie with a man” as he does “with a woman”.
It IS natural, however, for a gay man to have gay sex. This is not really addressed in the bible at all.

Wrong, absolutley wrong. It may SEEM like that to you, if you don’t know better, but the reality is that with a few ‘exceptions’ that prove the rule…the vast majority of professional musicians, artists and actors were the ones that spent many years studying music, dance and practising their art.
They were the ones in the drama clubs, glee clubs and writing the school papers, while being laughed at by the jocks, stoners and the “beautiful people”. They were the ones practicing 4-6 hours a day on their instruments while the other kids drove around on motorcycles and muscle cars…
Ask almost ANY successful artists if they were part of the ‘cool’ clique in school! Nay, nay, lol… You don’t become an accomplished musician, dancer or artist by hanging out in the smoking area, or following high school sports…
You do it by WORKING and studying your craft.
It’s a myth that performers are “discovered” by agents and impressarios while they lead their ordinary lives…it happens, especially with modelling perhaps, but 99% of artists are there because they worked hard at it…
Even many such “overnight” success like Britney spears have been singing, acting, dancing and going to auditions since they were young…

To be an entertainer, or an actor, or a musician etc etc…you will need to meet, work with and get to love and respect MANY different types of people!

There are more and more cases of young Americans, and Canadians, breaking out of the bondage of religious indoctrination. Through the ‘internet’ and the age of global communication, they see that what they have been groomed to do is not normal behavior.
To be indoctrinated to hate other religions, gays, certain types of music, foriegners etc etc is child abuse, pure and simple. They are ordered to marry another “good” christian, often selected for them sureptiticiously by their family and pastor at “church” functions…
Mariied at 18 or 20, these silly “Christian” marriages end in divorce at a staggering rate…much higher according to Gallup, than a non “christian” one. This, I believe comes from taking two young and hormone ridden teenagers of young adults, and convincing them that the only way to reliveing their pent-up sexual feelings is through a good ‘christian marriage’, lol.
Of course, they are desperate for ‘contact’, and they swallow this awful attempt by their elders at playing some evil game of “Adam and Eve”, and they enter into the “union”…which, predictably breaks up in a few years as they seek more than they were “given”…
I find it despicable, the whole religious/marriage/chastity nonsense…where bitter old parents try to live out their own failed love lives vicariously through their children…
Talk about an “ick” factor…

1) She will learn how narrow is the world-view instilled on her by her (probably religious) parents, and go on to grow into a well-rounded person – perhaps get a job as PR for a huge civil-rights law firm…go to night school and one day join the ACLU.
2) She will be surrounded by sycophnants and family and “friends” who will coo and sooth her and assure her that she is right, and the world is wrong. She’ll f**k Murdoch and get a gig with Faux News, with all the other beauty queens, until she ages past 45 and will have to retire..
3) She’ll just fade into obscurity with all the other poor little girls, go home to suburban Sacremento, and get impregnated by the local Television Anchor guy at a Palin rally in ‘12. Herr son will turn out to be gay, because, well…”God” works in mysterious ways.
That’s why we call it “God’s mysterious ways…”
