When it comes to helping out home owners at risk of losing their home – can we make sure it is their ONLY home? I don’t know the numbers, but some of the toxic mortgages is from folks thinking they can strike it rich by flipping houses. It’s a gamble, and I don’t have much sympathy for that.
My husband was talking about the possibility of reworking the mortgage based on actual value and eliminating balloon payments. So if the person actually lives there, and is unable to meet the ridiculous terms they signed up for (in many cases not fully understanding the terms), the bank takes the partial loss and more reasonable monthly payments are accepted.
In any case – Obama convinced me to vote for him, but I still considered myself a Republican. After Monday’s temper tantrum by the House, I’m calling myself an Independent. I’ll be damned if I want to be associated with those Republicans anymore!
This is a joke, right? The campaign isn’t really trying to pull this off, are they?
After everyone commented on McCain’s incoherent mumbling at the end of the White House meeting that showed absolutely no leadership – they now spin it to “John McCain listened to all sides so he could help focus the debate on finding a bipartisan resolution that is in the interest of taxpayers and homeowners.”?
I think I’m going to be ill.
McCain Flip-Flopped On Mortgage Crisis
October 8th, 2008 at 8:57 amThank you for the count on “my friends”. I gave up.
Now, do you have a count of how many times Senator McCain said, “I know how to do …. “? That’s the new shot drinking cue for the next debate!
