“Iowa Rep. Steve King Worried His State Will Become “Gay Mecca””
Let’s find out where King lives and start a fund for any gay folk who’ll volunteer to move into King’s neighborhood—and get married on their front lawn.
This is why there should be psychological testing the equal of anything police departments administer to recruits before we issue gun permits to anybody.
Everybody who knew this nut in Binghamton NY says they’re not surprised he went out and committed mass murder–AND YET NOBODY THOUGHT TO QUESTION WHETHER HIS GUN PERMITS SHOULD BE REVOKED!
That’s insanity.
And we’ve got the NRA and the rest of the rightwing republican subversives to thank for it.
There could never be a stealth attack on gun owners, because no one could be more paranoid than gun owners, who perceive attacks on gun rights and the 2nd Amendment even in Hostess Twinkies.
But, “He was always talking about his guns.”
Another bitter bitter man clinging to his guns. The only surprise is that, apparently, he didn’t keep a closet full of bibles.
The Patriot Act is a good law if you want to live in a police state. And most of the radical right is full of such cowards they would surrender all their constitutionally guaranteed freedoms to live in the relative safety of a police state.
That’s why the radical right needs their guns. They’re too cowardly to face life without guns.
And that’s why the radical right needs their evangelical mullahs. To tell them Jesus loves them, and He loves their guns too.
Congratulations to the Limbaughs and the Coulters and all the other high priests of hate on the spree killing in Binghampton, NY. Your chickens have come home to roost. Doubtless, you’re very proud.
Well, this is one of the guys who used to always be telling men to get haircuts, and women to put on a dress. He’s got his view of the world and it’s up to you and me and everyone else to live up to his expectations.
“Under the Constitution, you are protected against the state taking away your fundamental rights.”
That statement is irrelevant to everything you just typed, as well as to the point of this thread.
“…that a man be allowed to stick his penis or fist in the anus…”
Face the fact. It’s just none of your business. It’s a private act between consenting adults. And if you don’t like it then go live in some Islamic state where the mullahs decide what’s best for everybody.
“Why should the larger society have to risk a fundamental institution…”
And that statement is irrational, and, again, totally irrelevant.
“Oh and by the by – instead of looking at revisionist black lists, try looking at the actual people McCarthy went after, their trials and sentencing for being spies in FDR’s White house.”
Yeah sure, and you try reading something other than Coulter’s revisionist garbage.
And by the way Roosevelt was dead two years before McCarthy joined the Senate.
“…it DOES NOT have the right to allow a professor to preach hate and discontent.”
The hell it doesn’t.
Here in America even neoNazis and the KKK have the right to free speech. Even Dick Cheney, who I despise, has the right to free speech. Even the NRA, which I consider a subversive organization, has a right to free speech.
And if you don’t understand that, and you don’t agree with it, then you don’t know what the heck it means to BE an “American.”
And if a university isn’t providing a broad range of viewpoints, even those full of hate, to its student body, then it’s nothing more than a business school churning out the next generation of white collar drones.
“The constitutional right of habeas corpus was “forged to guard against” executive abuses like the “arbitrary exercise of the government’s power to detain,” wrote Judge Bates…”
If you have a problem with a “university” employing someone with Ward Churchill’s views then you share in the very modernist American ideal that higher education should strive for nothing more than to prepare students for highly lucrative careers in business.
“I find Hannity completely insulting to the intelligence of your average American.”
I find it difficult to imagine anything insulting the intelligence of the “average” anyone, American or otherwise.
“Alan…is a broadcast journalist just like Rush Limbaugh or Hannity or O’Reilly or Beck.”
On his radio show, Alan has repeatedly denied, perhaps dozens of times, that he is any kind of a journalist. He describes himself as a talk show host and broadcast personality. And I believe he has said much the same for all or most of the right-wing bloviaters you mention.
