I’m against it. The ‘Generals’ will always say they can win it with more troops ( cannon fodder) and more material (military-industrial complex pork projects). We’re trying to fight a twenty-first century war in a tenth century scenario…and at what cost? Are there any projections of how much money/dollars this will cost?…and why aren’t there any of these projections?
But the military does not have a long relationship with the NRA. Many of those trainers you speak of would be the first to say a military post in the homeland should not require personnel to walk around with loaded weapons; and they were not trained by the NRA, they were trained by the military.
Now the NRA is telling the military how to do things!? There are reasons personnel don’t carry weapons on base. In combat areas there are many instances of accidental discharge ( some leading to death and injury ). Taking that lesson home it is easy to see why commanders do not want their troops walking around with loaded or even supposedly unloaded weapons. Having a gun is serious business best not left up to fools.
