I have believed for years and have posted many times on this blog that the conservative radio talkshow hosts and many of the conservatives on Fox News have one thing in common – money. Those folks will say anything for a buck. And if they could make the money pushing a liberal agenda – they would do so. Glenn Beck spends hours a day trying to dream up stuff to say to kill time and get a paycheck. I would venture to say bossLimbaugh spends many an hour reading liberal blogs to obtain much of his material. That is of course in between his oft not missed meals…
The conservatives have been heating up and preparing for this argument since President Obama won the presidential election. bossLimbaugh, Gallagher, Ingraham and many of these minions become angrier by the day. I watched Laura fill-in for O’Reilly a couple of days last week – she is so bitter and angry that she has to force herself to smile.
I was listening to bossLimbaugh last week while at work. He was talking about driving his large vehicles to Costco and other such stores. His producers or someone there nudged him to add to his rant that he doesn’t drive to those places to shop but, his employees do. I guess he forgot about telling the audience, not long ago, that he has never entered the front door of a Wal-Mart.
I love Colin Powell’s response to bossLimbaugh. “He will not get his wish.” I would venture to say bossLimbaugh is counting down the minutes until he goes on the air tomorrow.
Sarah Palin – the poor victim of the media who can’t stay out of the spotlight. How many more times is she going to relate about being mistreated and maligned by the media?
I would imagine this woman remembers the Eisenshower administration very well. I am glad that Obama brought up the Eisenhower administration today at the commencement program at Notre Dame. I hope he continues to bring up the Eisenhower administration good works. It is funny that liberal, socialist loving, American hating Obama (I support Obama – I don’t believe these accusations of Obama) has more respect for a true Republican – Eisenhower – than the Republicans of today.
Kregg -
Get a grip. Most of these conservatives are out for one thing – money. I only listen to these wingnuts on the radio and television – don’t know them personally and would not want to. End of discussion!
Obama did a good job in handling the whole Notre Dame issue. He spoke eloquently today and it sure looked to me as though the audience was glad he spoke at the commencement program.
Ted Nugent…another Ann Coulter type who uses “outrage” as a way to make money and attract attention to himself. Another conservative “family values man” who pushed for the war in Iraq however, I heard Shemane say on H&C, their young son was going to go to college – this was about a year ago. Ted Nugent..good family values man who speaks at many a high school but, when he was given the reality show on VH1, the show was laced with profanity. Ted Nugent – the guy who didn’t like country music until there was some opportunity for $$$ by teaming up with Toby Keith. I don’t consider Toby Keith a true country artist but, Ted Nugent took advantage of an opportunity to cash in on the deal.
Sarah Palin, the woman who cries each week “the media treats me unfairly” can’t stay out of the media spotlight. She hams it up every time she gets a chance to speak to a reporter. Nothing but sour grapes from the R party.
These tea parties are nothing but a way for some people to cash in; John Rich has a new CD out…Ted Nugent may sell some books, sell a CD or get more attendees at a conert, Glenn Beck is now going on a comedy tour. I won’t be surprised if Ann Coulter and Mark Levin are in attendance at one of these events to sell books. Again, these events will turn out to be nothing but a cashin’ in for certain parties and to obtain more listeners to right wing radio programs.
Today’s right would never accept Teddy Roosevelt or Eisenhower. I am surprised the right wing talking heads are not dissing Susan Eisenhower on a regular basis for her viewpoints.
The Republicans have almost nothing, nil, zap to offer. Oh, they will try to sell you a book. Or they are pretty good at taking on the role of the motivational speaker. How much money has Rudy Guiliani made touring as a motivational speaker? And let us not forget they offer encouragement…they are great at telling people “you can make it if you work hard.” Look at me, says the Republican, I worked hard and look where I am today. Rush sure reminds his audience ~daily~ he has succeeded in life. When Mitt Romney was running for president, he didn’t have much to say except about his experience with the Olympics. The R party has no vision. All they know is that they want the days of Reagan. They live in the past “what would Reagan do?” Well, from where I am sitting all they have to do is look around and see what Reagan got started and where his vision has ended.
The guy nails the truth in the piece. Conservatives do need the liberals – if the sun isn’t shining – the fault of a liberal – if preacher won’t preach – the fault of a liberal – if the teacher won’t teach – the fault of a liberal – if the anchorman on tv doesn’t say what the conservative wants to hear – the fault of a liberal. Yep the liberal is the whipping post for the conservative.
exhibits himself to be each weekday. What I think is a tragedy, there are probably many people who listen to this jerk and believe everything he says is gospel and probably do not have two pennies to rub together at the end of the week. That is a true shame!
OlElRushbo -
The guy who brags each weekday about how has made himself such a huge success. Yea, he is huge alright. He sure doesn’t miss too many meals. But, he is the biggest whiner I have ever heard in my life as well. He has boo-hooed for two or three days about rising taxes in the Big Apple. This is a guy with a Gulfstream and not one but, five houses whining and griping about higher taxes. He doesn’t want to pay. He is being treated unfairly in America. I see people who work hard out in this unbearable heat who do not make but a middle class or below living who are not whining an eighth as much Rush is about rising taxes, rising food prices and general rising prices on everything. And I’ll guarandamtee they don’t eat near as well as Rush does and will may never attend a pro football game in their hometown. What a self-centered, egotistical, self-serving slob Rush
Today’s right would even be ready to stone Lincoln for his funding to begin the railroad systems. The R party of today wants to resurrect the Calvin Coolidge & Herbert Hoover way of thinking – even though their governing brought disaster to the nation.
Actually to be fair and balanced, FDR takes a rather good beating these days from the right. The right has retired bashing Bill Clinton and taken-up bashing FDR on a full-time scale. I don’t hear the liberals beating up too much on Coolidge and Hoover though.
I am sure there are many people who would love to give Rush a piece of their mind. However, I don’t hear too many liberals talking to Rush on his show. Alan is much more liberal in giving ALL people a fair shake at being heard on his radio show. Rush only talks about the liberals by ripping the Drudge report for three hours and reading liberal blogs. Rush says he doesn’t read the liberal blogs but, I would venture to say that he does read them. Alan actually speaks with the other side.
Alan has talked to the Osteen’s on many occasions, which includes Hannity & Colmes and his radio show. I don’t believe Alan lost too many of his regular listeners because Joel Osteen was a guest on either show.
Personally, I didn’t expect any kind comments at all. I can’t wait for your radio show tonight. I am sure there will be many calls from the right wingers who are filled with anger and ready to give you a tongue lashing.
Good article Alan. However, by tomorrow at this time, this thread will be full of hate from the right wingers. Something similar to your first hour of callers on your radio show – you hear all of the vitriol from the hours and hours of right wing radio talk of the day.
