False. Americans are taxed at the gas pump, on cable/phone bills, state taxes, property taxes, local income taxes, social security taxes, medicare taxes, loads of “fee’s”, sales taxes, airline tickets, etc. To suggest that even the poor aren’t paying some form of tax is a crock.
That conservatives try and use Federal income tax as if that is the only tax the masses are paying is just more of their favorite game of half truth and smoke and mirrors.
Funny that Warren Buffet laments that he pays less in tax than his cleaning woman, and that the rich DO need to pay more in taxes, and that any argument to the contrary is just bunk. I’ll take Buffet’s assumptions over yours any day of the week. I think he is in a position to know what taxes the rich can afford. When Charlie Rhodes asked him about whether or not raising taxes on the rich would hurt the economy, he pointed out that the country grew just fine when taxes were 75% or more.
Perhaps Rep. Shedegg should avail himself of the the mental health coverage found in the gold plated health insurance he receives at taxpayers expense.
Why not let them pay? They are enjoying 90% of the spoils of our economy. The top 2% make their money off the backs of the lowly many. No millionaire would become wealthy without the collective efforts of the many, so yes, they DO owe the “little people” something.

The conservative idea of a solution is simply to say “No” to any proposal that is pro-human, or not care about the consequences of their policies. Nor are they particularly interested in being pro-active to solve problems, only reactive. Unless of course, it is to further the plutocracy that has taken over the country.
The conservative movement lost credibility when they decided to wrap themselves in the flag, war, prejudice, and religion simply to win elections. Worse, to exploit prejudices against minorities and others is the real source and genesis of division that continues to accelerate the country’s growing division. Even worse is by exploiting base prejudices, they have convinced the uninformed to vote against their own interests.
But not to worry. Conservatism by it’s very nature is unnatural. All things change, evolve, and grow. What does not, dies. Traditions and solutions that may have worked when this country had 40 million people are not workable with a population on it’s way to 400 million.
