OldLefty – I do see the difference between national defense and current national defense spending and agree that we should never have started the war in Iraq. But, it seems your argument is that two wrongs make a right. Doesn’t work for me.
James – Are you suggesting that you can’t see a difference between national defense and health care spending? I thought you libs were all about personal choice? Shouldn’t one’s choice on the type of health care coverage be left up to the individual?
Eric – in reality, I am wishing that we avoid following YOUR proposed plan that will cause failure for this nation and that is disgusting and is unamerican. We need you people on the left to stop mindlessly repeating Barney Frank (who is the poster child to support mandating that all elected officials have an IQ greater than their shoe size) soundbites. How much of your current income (assuming you have any)are you willing to pay to support nationalized health care? Remember this will reduce your ability to continue purchasing the mind-altering drugs.
Wow. I agree with Alan. The Democrats should not give up because its a tough fight.
The Democrats should give up because it’s a policy that will lead to the destruction of the American economy.
I bet you could win overwhelming support for an public cooperative that is funded entirely by individual election. Each person could choose if they want to donate the vast majority of their income to provide health care services for the “unfortunate” – like the presedential election fund, just check a box on your income tax return to send the rest of your money to the Government. All of you who believe we have a morale duty to provide health care to all Americans can participate. Those who don’t share this belief, don’t have to.
HAIRY LEFT NUT OF THE DAY – John Holden, who is desperately in need of a good barber (or any sort of hair trimming apparatus).
President Obama’s “science czar,” John Holdren, once floated the idea of forced abortions, “compulsory sterilization,” and the creation of a “Planetary Regime” that would oversee human population levels and control all natural resources as a means of protecting the planet.
Holdren’s plans include forcing single women to abort their babies or put them up for adoption; implanting sterilizing capsules in people when they reach puberty; and spiking water reserves and staple foods with a chemical that would make people sterile.
To help achieve those goals, they formulate a “world government scheme” they call the Planetary Regime, which would administer the world’s resources and human growth, and they discuss the development of an “armed international organization, a global analogue of a police force” to which nations would surrender part of their sovereignty.
And Obama is looking to this guy for advice on science.
LOL, a sick, married, S.O.B. who can’t think of getting drunk and laid by hot Swedish babes, lest Alan make an incessant series of posts about my attempts to reconcile with my soon to be ex-wife, despite simultaneously advocating for a person’s right to privacy.
Whew…glad they are safe from the land raping antics of the Socialist Norweigian Government. How about the carribou, artic foxes, and sea creatures, whose environments were destroyed so that they could pump oil and gas, sell it to Americans, and implement a single payer health care system. By Thor, I wish we were more like Norway.
What!?!?! The Norwegians allowed drilling to exploit their oil reserves? Have they no left wing (or moderate right wingers, depending on what scale you want to use) environmentalists to sue them to stop this nonsense? What happened to the polar bears and the penguins? Must have been a complete tragedy and destroyed the whole country.
Alan – what is your fascination with this guy? Should we bring up all the lies that John Edwards told about his infidelity? Or is that your next post? Enough already.
I’m a little further south of you, and there are plenty of Saints around here too. And they are typically good people. Gotta say, though, its fun to watch the young uns ride their bikes around in ties, sweltering in the heat, trying to convert anyone who will listen.
Hey, trees, great idea. I vote no to homos and yes to polygos. Now I just gotta talk my wife into it. Any Joseph Smith fans out there have any good talking points?
Name one aspect of life that you don’t want the government to regulate or control in one way or another.
Healthcare is a right? So just by virtue of birth (assuming Mom makes the right choice), we have the right to have a doctor treat us for any ailment? Is this really what you are saying?
No credit card company has ever ripped me off. If you borrow money from them, you live by their terms. YOU have the choice to not use their services.
I believe you are completely blinded to reality by your partisan beliefs and fail to take into consideration that each “little” problem you solve with a government solution leads to greater power to the government and greater likelihood of abuse.
Something must be amiss, Rocky actually made sense. Now, take the next step, Rocky, and question what will happen if the Government gets all the power you want to give them to control every aspect of our lives? You want to give government the ability to control which healthcare we can choose, which car we can buy, which radio station we can listen, and which credit card we can use. You are perpetuating the problem with power.
Of course, after we elected the first african american as president, EVERYBODY gave the president a high approval rating….it seemed like the politically correct thing to do.
That’s when we thought he was going to govern from the center.
But, you can keep pretending that increased tax burdens on corporations and health care benefits, and the ever increasing deficit debt, will actually improve the economy. Blissful ignorance is a wonderful way to live a life.
So who was Mr. 68%? None other than George W. Bush. According to Gallup polls, Bush averaged a 68% approval rating in his first year of his presidency. Jumped up to 71% in his second year.
Seems Obama is an abject failure in comparison.
Keep patting yourselves on the back while you destroy the American economy.
Just out of curiosity (and I bet I know the answer)…How many of you libs are sending in extra tax dollars to pay for all these programs you want to impose on the rest of us? Or are you waiting to be nominated to a cabinet position before you pay your taxes?

June 18th, 2009 at 6:00 pmUsing your “logic,” under your solution the Government will decide who lives and who dies. Sounds like that really solves the problem.

June 9th, 2009 at 12:21 pmI agree, get Al over there as fast as possible. Maybe we’ll get lucky and they’ll lock him up too. Think of the reduction in our carbon footprint.
Who's Behind These "Tea Parties"?
April 14th, 2009 at 8:59 pmAny spending that results in a deficit is too much spending. Your kids will thank you for it.
What this recession needs is supply side spending, not demand side spending. Get it? got it? good!
