Shippensburg University is offering Plan B in its health care center vending machines, along with condoms and pregnancy kits.
Vice President for Student Affairs Roger Serr says the machine was installed following a request from the school’s Student Association and a survey found 85 percent of student respondents supported it.
Plan B is available without a prescription to anyone 17 or older.
The cost of the drug isn’t covered or subsidized by the school. Instead it is supplied for $25, the school’s cost to the pharmaceutical company and less than at off-campus pharmacies.

The Komen senior vice president at the center of the organization’s Planned Parenthood controversy is stepping down.
Note that Handel says she is declining the offer of a severance package from Komen — which might have required her to keep silent. She’s got a session with reporters this afternoon in Atlanta.
She defends her position in her resignation letter.
What was a thoughtful and thoroughly reviewed decision – one that would have indeed enabled Komen to deliver even greater community impact – has unfortunately been turned into something about politics. This is entirely untrue. This development should sadden us …

The Milton Hershey School won’t allow a 13-year-old honors student to enroll because he is HIV positive.
On its website…the school states that the boy would pose a direct threat to the health and safety of others, and as a private school it can establish its own eligibility criteria.
In fact, HIV discrimination is illegal under the Americans with Disabilities Act. The AIDS Law Project of Pennsylvania has filed suit against the school, alleging that it has broken the law by refusing to admit Abraham [not his real name] because he has HIV. For more than 23 years, this …

No man would be legislated like this.
According to DSHS memos sent to women’s health clinics on Monday:
— As of October, the abortion doctor, not an ultrasound technician, had to meet the woman seeking an abortion at least 24 hours ahead of the procedure to perform a sonogram, describe the medical risks of an abortion and determine the gestational age of the fetus. If a woman lives more than 100 miles from an abortion provider, the 24-hour requirement becomes two hours.
— Starting last month, the abortion provider had to begin displaying the sonogram images, making the heartbeat …

The Clint Eastwood ad was not political, much as right-wingers have spend all day trying to make it so. Eastwood’s long-time manager Leonard Hirshan explains:
“That’s the problem; everything is political now,” says Hirshan, who tells us that he didn’t see the “Halftime” spot until it aired last night, and insisted that Eastwood agreed to make the spot without even consulting his representative of 50 years because it was “something personal he got involved in” that was neither political nor commercial.
The TV spot pointedly made no reference to Chrysler, or its cars, which do not appear in the …

Overall, 55 percent of those who are closely following the campaign say they disapprove of what the GOP candidates have been saying. By better than 2 to 1, Americans say the more they learn about Romney, the less they like him. Even among Republicans, as many offer negative as positive assessments of him on this question. Judgments about former House speaker Newt Gingrich, who denounced Romney on Saturday night in Nevada, are about 3 to 1 negative.…

A photoshopped picture of Mitt Romney, is making its rounds on the Internet today and, if I worked at palace Romney, I’d be pulling my hair out.
On it’s face, it’s may look just like kids misspelling Romney’s last name. No big deal.
But that’s not reality. This is the type of photo that gets shared over and over in email chains and then goes viral on Twitter and Facebook.
And the overtone of this image completely feeds the narrative stacking against Romney—that he only cares about money (and not the poor). That’s he’s an out-of-touch, capitalist …
